In only its third year of existence, the Olivet High School girls’ golf program can claim its first state meet qualifier.

Junior Logan McLane carded a 92 on Wednesday, good enough for second place out of 58 golfers in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 4 Regional Meet at Glenbrier Golf Course in Perry. The impressive 18-hole score qualifies McLane individually for the MHSAA Division 4 State Finals October 14-15 at the Forest Akers West Golf Course in Lansing.

The only golfer to score better than McLane on Wednesday was Lansing Catholic’s Abigail Meder, who fired a blistering 86. Caitlin Lysher of Napoleon shot a 92 as well.

McLane is coming off a regular season that included a No. 2 overall ranking in the Greater Lansing Activities Conference and a second straight All-GLAC first team recognition.
