Renae Morton, a 2014 Olivet High School graduate, is making a name for herself as a member of the Transylvania University softball team.

On Saturday, Morton pitched a no-hitter for the Pioneers in their 1-0 victory over Luther College in Kissimmee, Florida. Both Transylvania (11-5) and Luther (6-1) are NCAA Division III schools, with Luther ranked No. 5 in the latest national poll.

Morton, the Pioneers’ top pitcher so far this year, struck out seven and walked only one in her team’s biggest victory of the young season. The junior transfer now leads Transylvania with 13 appearances, eight starts, six complete games, a 4-3 record, 67 strikeouts in 61 2/3 innings, and a 1.59 ERA.

The Transylvania roster also includes freshman Shawna Morton, Renae’s younger sister, who graduated from OHS in 2016.
