Multiple Teams · Varsity Football Campaign Promises to be Exciting

Olivet High School’s varsity football schedule in 2013 features four home games, a season-opening contest against a departing rival, and a Homecoming clash in late September.

The Eagles, coming off a 2012 season when they went 7-4 and reached the second round of the state playoffs, begin their campaign on Thursday, August 29 with a 7 p.m. game at Maple Valley. The Lions are leaving the Kalamazoo Valley Conference following the 2013-14 school year to join the newly-formed Greater Lansing Athletic Conference.

Olivet’s first home game is set for Friday, September 13 against Schoolcraft. Two weeks later, the locals will host Parchment in a Week #5 Homecoming contest. The Eagles other home games are against Battle Creek Pennfield (October 11) and Constantine (October 18). Pennfield also is exiting the KVA next year to join a new conference that includes Jackson-area schools and Charlotte.

Rounding out Olivet’s road schedule this fall are games at Kalamazoo Christian (September 6), Kalamazoo Hackett (September 20), Galesburg-Augusta (October 4) and Delton Kellogg (October 25).
