Multiple Teams · Varsity Volleyball Goes 2-1 at Marshall Quad

The Olivet varsity volleyball squad went 2-1 at Tuesday’s Marshall quad, with its only loss coming at the hands of the host Redhawks.

Both Olivet and Marshall were 2-0 heading into the final match after defeating both Union City and Bellevue. The Eagles clipped Union City in three games, 25-23, 22-25, 15-7, before sweeping Bellevue, 25-17, 25-17. The third match saw Olivet lose to the Redhawks, 25-18, 25-11.

Statistical leaders for Coach Kelly Offrink’s Eagles were Aleena Janousek with 24 kills, 23 digs and four aces; Taylor Holmes with 56 assists, 16 digs and five aces; Loren Westlake with 27 digs; Sarah Sharp with six kills and nine aces; and Sydney Weeks with seven digs and three aces.

Olivet, 4-3-1 overall, begins Greater Lansing Activities Conference play on Tuesday, September 2 when it travels to Lansing Christian.
