Daniel Higgins, who won a singles state championship two months ago, was honored this afternoon at the Michigan High School Interscholastic Bowling Coaches Association awards banquet in Sterling Heights.
The Olivet High School junior received second-team All-MHSIBCA Division 3 honors. The criteria used to determine the all-state bowling teams included regular-season, regional and state competition, along with each student-athlete’s grade-point average. Five bowlers were named to each of the first, second and third teams.
Higgins cinched his all-state recognition on March 5 at Airport Lanes in Jackson when he placed first in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 3 Individual Bowling Championships.
