The Olivet girls’ track and field squad clinched its second Greater Lansing Activities Conference championship in as many seasons after placing first in Wednesday’s league meet at Maple Valley High School.
The Eagles, undefeated in GLAC dual meets, scored 157 points compared to 130 for runner-up Perry.
Finishing first in individual events for Olivet were Taylor Sinclair in the 100-meter dash, Thalia Garza in the 400 dash, Logan Kyre in the 300 hurdles, Bailey Hoffman in the shot put and discus, and Noelle Rohde in the long jump. The 400 relay of Kyre, Rohde, Sinclair and Makenzi Lambka, and the 3200 quartet of Kelsie Letts, Hazel Anderson, Teona Feldpausch and Morgan Greenman also crossed the line first.
The Olivet boys entered the league meet in a three-way tie for first place, but finished fourth on Wednesday en route to a third-place overall standing.
The Eagles’ winners were Chase Martin in the 100 dash, Rashad Blakely in the shot put, and the 3200 relay of Collin Hannahs, Joel Fudge, Justice Miller and Isaac Waffle.
