Eagles News · Heavy Dose of Post-Season Play Begins Tuesday


All six Olivet High School spring varsity teams will either continue or begin post-season play this week.  Here is a look at what’s on tap:

Baseball

Olivet (15-11) travels to Marshall on Tuesday, May 29 for a pre-district game against GLAC rival Lakewood.  First pitch at 5:00 PM.  The winner of Tuesday’s game will advance to Saturday’s district semifinal against Hastings at 10:00 AM.  The district championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 3:00 PM, with Marshall and Pennfield situated on the other side of the bracket.

Softball

The Lady Eagles (19-11) also travel to Marshall on Tuesday, May 29 for a pre-district game against Lakewood, with the first pitch scheduled for 5:00 PM. The winner of Tuesday’s game will then play Hastings in a district semifinal on Saturday, June 2 at 12:00 noon.  The district final is slated for Saturday at 2:00 PM.  Other tourney participants include Pennfield and Marshall.

Girls’ Soccer

Olivet (10-6-2) takes on Lakewood in a first-round district match on Tuesday, May 29 at 5:00 PM at Williamston High School.  The winner will play either Perry or Lansing Catholic on Thursday, May 31.  The district championship game is scheduled for Saturday, June 2 at 6:00 PM.  All matches will be played at Williamston.

Boys’ Golf

The Eagles will compete in the MHSAA Division 3 Regional at Hampshire Country Club in Dowagiac on Thursday, May 31 at 8:00 AM.

Boys’ / Girls’ Track & Field

Six OHS athletes have qualified for the MHSAA Division 2 Finals at Zeeland East High School on Saturday, June 2.  They are Bailey Hoffman, Colin Grady, Isaac Waffle, Joel Fudge, Zach Griffith and Devin Feldpausch.  Field events start at 9:30 AM.
