Eagles News · Eleven ‘Next-Level’ Athletes are No. 1 OHS Sports Story of 2017-18

Olivetathletics.com is counting down the top 10 Olivet High School sports stories of 2017-18.  Here is No. 1…

In most years, a handful of successful Olivet High School student-athletes will go on to play a sport at the college level.  The percentages are against them, of course, but OHS’s tradition of strong academics and athletics create these opportunities.

The Class of 2018 proved to be something special, however, as 11 student-athletes in seven different sports have committed to various colleges throughout Michigan.  This large contingent of Eagle excellence is the No. 1 OHS sports story of 2017-18.

The breakdown is unique as nine of the 11 athletes are girls – five of whom filled the top five spots in the softball team’s batting order.  Two of the other girls will participate in two sports at their respective colleges.  As for the levels, two of the 11 athletes have signed with NCAA Division 2 schools, four signed with NAIA universities, three committed to NCAA Division 3 colleges and two will play for junior colleges.
