Olivet High School is hosting “Veterans Appreciation Night” on Friday, September 7 as part of the Olivet vs. Stockbridge varsity football game, which will be the Greater Lansing Activities Conference opener for both teams.
All military veterans — along with active military personnel and both active and retired law enforcement members — will be admitted into the contest free of charge. These individuals simply have to report to the main gate and identify themselves as being in one of those categories.
From there, the Olivet players are inviting any military veteran in attendance to join them as they walk through the Olivet Stadium tunnel and onto the field prior to the game. Veterans are asked to assemble at a designated area just inside the main gate at 6:30 PM.
General spectators are encouraged to be inside the stadium early so that they can observe and honor the military veterans. In addition, the varsity football team will have a unique look Friday night, wearing special camouflage uniforms to support the event.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
